UT Humanities Center Origins

BrochA committee of department heads and administrators began work in 2009 to bring this exciting program to fruition. It was officially established in July 2011. We believe the benefits of the center to the university's humanities faculty and graduate students have already been considerable, and we are most grateful to the College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of the Provost for their support.

The Humanities Center began its first full term of operation in academic year 2012-13, offering four faculty research fellowships to UT Knoxville faculty members and two dissertation completion fellowships to UT Knoxville graduate students. The faculty fellowships will increase to six, and the number of graduate student fellowships will grow to four by 2015.

The flagship campus of the University of Tennessee System and partner in the Tennessee Transfer Pathway.
