"Humanities Matters" Discussion Series
Since 2017, the UT Humanities Center has hosted discussion of a book, art work, or event important to defining the role of the humanities within society and within the global university. The "Humanities Matters" series participates in the new turn to "critical university studies" but also considers new perspectives on the value of the humanities to democracy and a life well-lived.
Open to UT graduate students, faculty, and staff, "Humanities Matters" discussions may be dovetailed with speakers from the UTHC's Visiting Scholars series when authors of books that we read are invited to campus. The discussions are open to all UT faculty, graduate students, and staff, and the some discussions may be open to the public as well.
