Meet Rodica Frimu

MFLL welcomes Rodica Frimu to its faculty. Prof. Frimu is an Assistant Professor of French, specializing in Second Language Acquisition. She also serves as the Language Program Director for the lower division of French. Prof. Frimu received her Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington. Her dissertation examines error detection in L1 and L2 French verbal morphology, showing that general processes of inferencing are required in order to be able to reject default errors. Her main research interests are the role of grammatical organization (in L1 and L2) and working memory (limitations) in L2, as grammatical knowledge is being deployed in real time.

The flagship campus of the University of Tennessee System and partner in the Tennessee Transfer Pathway.
